This was done fairly quick.. riding the wave of Star Trek, I decided to pay a little homage to the guy's that started it. I went to see the new film, and thought it was pretty good, though it took me a bit to get use to the idea of different actors in these roles... and I never got use to the new Checkov badly overdone Russian accent. That aside pretty good film...
This is pastel pencils on velour paper 8" x 10".

Very cool drawing, nicely done and a read an interview with the director and he mentioned they asked the new kid to intentionally do a terrible accent as homage to the original series. I'm with you though new actors was hard to accept, but as a trekkie I do. ^^

The new Chekov is actually a Russian, so the accent isn't totally unbelievable...in that respect.

I think you might be wrong on that though I am not sure, I am pretty sure I saw the kid on Curb your enthusiasm and in some other things where he was very American.

I thought Chekov's accent was hilarious, but I can see where you're coming from. The new cast was definitely...different, but I thought they did a nice job overall.

Amazing drawing! With the colors and everything it's absolutely wonderful, you definitely got the feel of the old show down perfectly. :D

Stunning work! Wow. Boy that brings back childhood memories...:)

It was a bit weird seeing other actors in the role but the Spock situation helped alleviate some of that for me. Awesomely fun relaunch.

Oh, wow, this looks amazing. I could easily see this as a cover for a DVD box set of TOS episodes.
