Running this back through again, used three prismacolors here, white, brown, and black...along with ink on textured colored paper, tribute to Frazetta.Tomorrow I will be posting my newest drawing which is of Salvador Dali and my first in charcoal's.
Love the frazetta tribute. Have you done a Boris one? I like colored pencils also especially berol prismacolors. I haven't tryed Crayola yet but have them since they come in 50 colors
Always thought Boris was a little too slick...too perfect. It's almost like Frazetta used remnants of the carnage left on the field after a battle in his paint. Boris is amazing at what he does.. just always liked Frazetta way more. The Crayola pencils, I never could make them work for me. Got's to have my prisma's... thanks
I agree Frazetta is better than Boris but they are both amazing. Always liked the Death Dealer in fantasy art the best. Did you ever see the animation movie Fire & Ice? I think the death dealer came to life in that movie at least that's who the one warrior looked like but for the life of me I can't remember who made the film. I have a VHS copy of it, I should watch it again sometime.
Ralph Bakshi made Fire and Ice with Frazetta. I actually have a drawing of Bakshi as well in my gallery. He is a legend in animation and direction... Having said that I have never given Fire and Ice much of a shot. As much as idolize both of those guys you would think I had seen it 30 times.
Hell yeah, Frank's the man!!!! My most favorite artist of all time. I have several art books by him that I haven't looked at in years. I also bought the Molly Hatchet albums when they came out. I first discovered Frazetta as the cover artist on paperbacks of Conan and other books by Robert E Howard. I think you really did a good job on this, especialy on the Deathdealer!
The Crayola pencils, I never could make them work for me. Got's to have my prisma's...
thanks
