A real reality TV moment

First I wanted to say thanks for the faves on the Ghostbuster's drawing. Proud of that one and think it's one of my best, so I appreciate the feedback.
Last night I was watching VH1, saw the Rock of Love reunion, which is TV at it's worst but I am hooked. After that show, Celebrity fit club came on. You know the one, basically alot of C-list stars come on there if they supposedly want to shed some pounds, or just get their mug on TV again. Dustin Diamond (Screech) is on there...so that tells you what you are dealing with.
Erin Moran, who played Joanie on Happy Days back in the 70's is on there as well. She had not been taken the diet or exercise seriously from what I could tell. I do not watch this show regular so I am basing it off two episodes I did see. At the end of the show the contestants step up on a scale to see how many pounds they shed that week. Erin hadn't lost but maybe five pounds over the course of the series, and the show is almost over. So one of the counselors said to her, you are not taking this seriously...why are you here? Erin said simply..."I did it for the money."
The other contestants sat and shook their heads, and an uneasy quiet came over the room. And I thought...well it's about time someone on one of these shows told the truth. They ARE there for the money, no doubt about it. They can act like they are trying to lose baby weight or try to put the spin that they truly care about getting fit, but I think that is a total crock. They can do that on their own without the camera's if that is what it's all about. It's about time somebody was "real" on one of these show's, and didn't give a damn about what the other's thought of it. Brian Dunkleman (American Idol co-host 1st season) is a contestant on this show, and he was too thin to begin with. This is a guy that walked off one of the most successful TV shows in history after it's initial season for no good reason. He said last night it was because of the way the kid's were treated. Bullshit. He walked because he thought his career would blossom from the exposure. Now he is on a celebrity shed the fat show, shaking his head at somebody that had the guts to tell the truth.
So...what is my point? I guess maybe I watch too much TV...and just when all these shows on VH1 are wrapping up, they come up with the king daddy...a celebrities doing magic series!
So Eddie Vedder comes out and calls American Idol fans idiots. I watch it sometimes...but I must agree with his statement as I seem to be a little dumber after every viewing. Not just Idol, all of them. When I think of all the work I could have done instead watching this sludge... it's truly depressing.
